HOW DO WE FUNCTION?

You have come upon this link for two reasons:

1.             Either you want our English E Teach DVDs for your school/NGO or teachers.

2.             Or you have already received them

If you are a Principal or a Teacher of a School, you would have either heard about us from someone you know or would have been approached by our NGO partners or our own team of facilitators to introduce you to the world of teaching English more effectively and in a fun manner using  our English E. Teach DVDs.

Here is a brief description of our English content:

This is are custom made English animated content, especially made to teach English in vernacular medium schools. They are made page wise according to the English Textbook provided by the Government of Maharashtra- Bal Bharati. We provide this content in the form of DVDS or on pendrives for Standards 1st to 4th.

Now coming to the main point: "HOW WE FUNCTION?"

Our head office is in Mumbai - The Bombay CommunityPublic Trust.

This is where our core team functions from. We have a set of Trustees who ensure complete transparency in our functioning and that our aim to do good work for free, is maintained. Along with them, are educationists who ensure we maintain the quality of our English content. We are out there to make English learning easier for all, thus we cannot take the pronunciations or grammar for granted. Hence, we ensure that we never compromise on this front.  Then we have a team of people dedicated to promote us - either to raise funds or build awareness for our partner NGOs & Corporate sponsors. Finally, we have a team of Facilitators (our backbone) who work for the Mumbai & Thane territories . Other than that, we have collaborations with various local NGO partners, who have their set of Facilitators in rural Maharashtra .

Who are these Facilitators and what is their role?

Facilitators, as the name suggests, are people who are going to facilitate at the grassroot level to coordinate the functioning of the DVDs/pendrives  in the various schools. They also act as guides for the teachers to facilitate their ability to effectively teach English using our content.

Their job is to first introduce our digital content to various schools and then ensure that the functioning of the DVDs/pendrives is happening properly. Their key role is to mentor the teachers and the schools to operate at their fullest potential - making the optimum use of our DVDs. We strongly believe that with these DVDs, we have created a path-breaking, one stop solution to - ‘making vernacular more spectacular’ (as put by ‘Mumbai Mirror’ in their coverage on 4th April 2017) - helping vernacular schools make their teaching practices more interesting and at the same time easier for the teacher as well.

When the Facilitator first introduces the DVD to any school or teacher, they first give them a demonstration of how to use the digital content in a class. They also leave behind a training movie(when the film will be up - a link) for them to refer to whenever they feel in doubt. Then, they regularly visit the school for a couple of months, to help the teachers with the queries they have or give them ideas and best teaching practices to teach better using the DVDs. Not only do they mentor the teachers in using the DVDs better, but also help in making the overall experience of education a little more interesting for those little ones out there.

Every week, they visit them again - just to see how things are going. There are times when the teachers are not able to use the DVDs effectively’ in which case they help them again. But then there are also times when the teachers have found their own creative ways to use the DVDs, we also haven’t imagined. Then the Facilitators bring back those experiences to us, and we share it with others. The idea is to help make this place a better playground for our kids to grow while they play.

We also run a section which is ‘Resources for the Teachers’ - where we share with them some best teaching practices or some new ideas for fun teaching, every now and then. This is like our little community where the teachers contribute as well as receive  - where a healthy exchange of ideas and experiences happen on a regular basis.
